Coconut water is similar in composition to human blood plasma and has been used intravenously to hydrate critically ill patients in emergency situations. It is a fantastic natural alternative to sugary sports drinks, which are essentially soft drinks without the bubbles.
Sports drinks are acid forming, full of artificial flavours and colouring, synthetic vitamins, high fructose corn syrup, sodium and can contain up to 18 teaspoons of sugar!
