Sheer Etiquette (Ellie)

CONDITION: Joint Pain
RIDER: Susan Paix's
LOCATION: AUS

In 2011 we started competing at Grand Prix International, unfortunately arthritic changes and stiffness set in for Ellie and we sadly decided to retire. Six months ago I started Ellie on Rose-Hip Vital. The change is unbelievable.

Ellie is better now than when she was competing. Ellie and I are going back into competition at the ripe age of 20. This is so exciting!

Life is too short to be unhealthy. Thank you Rose-Hip Vital!

After only being on Rose-Hip Vital for a month (finished a Equine 3.3 lb) I am seeing huge improvements. He is more willing to use his hind end and sit down to turn and isn't fighting me when I ask him to come around. Additionally, he is firing harder during his run and clocking better and actually winning some money! I can't wait to see how he continues to improve.

I call Rose-Hip Vital my "anti vet bill in a bucket" or jar, as the case may be. I have a 34 year old mare (Cosi) on special retirement agistment. I absolutely HATE not having her with me any more, but she is relaxing in the company of like minded girls, spoilt rotten where she is, especially with her double doses of RHV each and every day. She is doing very well, considering that she recently lost my 34 year old OTTB, Maestro, during the horrific start to the heat waves in the beginning of the year. Ever heard of a 34 year old ex galloper? Not many of them around! The reason for his longevity was constant harassment of my stock feeders for what else I could feed him (he had no teeth), more love than he had ever known in his life, and RHV.

Maestro was my 34 year old off the track thoroughbred. Of any horse to have aches and pains, he would have been the one, thanks to the first 11 years of his life in the racing industry. He suffered through very cold winters when we lived in Kalgoorlie. Rugging him left his legs out, of course. The last few years however he was out in the paddock keeping up with the younger ones. Like Cosi, he was on a double dose of RHV. I lost him only a short time ago thanks to the continued heat waves we had in WA. He became terribly dehydrated, and colicked. I had to do what I had to do, and smashed my heart to pieces in the process. We had been together for 23 years.... That's a happy, shiny 34 year old horse. Bless his heart.... In that huge tub of shandy chaff (pictured below) and soaked hygain truecare is lots of RHV. Maestro had no teeth, so this kept him fat and happy.

So now the tradition continues with "The Fat Boys", 2 quarterhorses, father and son who were not gelded until very late in the day so they could fully develop. Because of my own physical illness, they don't really do much... although this will soon change. I feed RHV in small amounts twice a day as a preventive measure, especially coming into winter. They run amok as they should, but my investment in their health NOW means less of a chance of things going wrong in the future.

For my boy, Yogi, a noodleheaded German Shepherd, he gets a small preventative dose... and I knock myself out on capsules. After a massive heart attack a few years ago, living with type 1 diabetes, and dealing with Polymyalgia Rheumatica, anti inflammatory assistance is very, very high on my list.

"Thank you for a very clean, natural product that is simple and effective."

I met my horse Snowy 10 years ago at a horse rescue where I volunteered. He was very angry, scared, and wild after being rescued from the slaughter truck. He's somewhere in his 30s, and he's quite arthritic and uncomfortable from previous abuse and injuries. Since he can no longer be ridden, he's my "big dog" living his best retirement. I've worked with him over the years with natural horsemanship techniques to bring him out of his shell and to help him understand that not all people are mean and that he is not bad.

The story goes that he was a pack horse for an outfitter in the Sierra Mountains. He stumbled and fell down the trail with packs on his back, and he was not properly cared for or given adequate time to heal. They sold their horses at a slaughter auction when the economy and their business tanked so they could get just a little more money out of them.

After that horrific ordeal, he has turned into a very sweet, loving, and (mostly!) well-mannered horse, but he can still be reactive to unseen demons at any time. ;-) His left side and hind quarters in particular were injured, breaking some ribs along with his withers, injuring his neck, and permanently damaging his hind leg. ...And he means the world to me!

In addition to resulting arthritis, he's metabolic, has Cushings, and has outlived the use of his teeth, so he's kinda high maintenance. I know he hurts and won't live forever, but for now he's happy and healthy, and I want the best I can provide for him while he blesses me with his presence.

Last summer he was having problems getting up from the ground. It was quite concerning, and, in as positive a manner as possible, the vet prepared us for a dark future if it didn't improve.

That's when I started him on Rose-Hip Vital. After a couple of months, he had more energy and could get up from the ground much more easily. Weekdays he gets turnout with his next-stall "frenemy" Mas(erati) or a walk in the Eurociser, and he gets almost-daily walks from my friend and me (when I can do it).

Thank you for a very clean, natural product that is simple and effective. I want Snowy in my life for as long as possible!

Snowy & Mindy (4-Ever!)
