Healthy Recipe Favourites Mango Vanilla Smoothie Bowl

Were back this week with another delicious recipe from Robyn-Anne Rose, aka Vitamins and Sprouts! As usual Robyn-Annes recipes include a sprinkle of Rose-Hip Vital so you get your daily dose. This smoothie bowl is packed of anti-inflammatory ingredients!

Below are a few words from Robyn-Anne Rose and her recipe for a delicious Mango and Vanilla Smoothie Bowl with summer fruits, which is perfect for the beautiful warm weather we have been experiencing of late!

When its cold you will likely find me hiding under my doona but due to this glorious spring weather, I have felt inspired of late to get back into my early morning walks. Warmer weather equates to more activity for most of us. As the days get longer and temperatures begin to climb, we generally feel more sociable and physical exercise becomes more appealing. Increased amounts of people can be seen out walking their dogs, cycling to work, playing team sports, and boot camps are in full swing.

While this is great for our health and wellbeing, extra exercise can sometimes put added stress on our joints and muscles. For this reason, as a preventative measure, now can be a good time to increase our dietary amount of foods which contain anti-inflammatory properties. Preventative health is about protecting and maintaining ones level of health, and taking precautions against any potential future health issues.

The following smoothie bowl is a delicious example of how we can easily supplement our diet with these anti-inflammatory superfoods so that we can keep being active.

Mango & Vanilla Smoothie Bowl with Summer Fruits

Serves 1-2

INGREDIENTS

1 mango (cubed and frozen overnight)

1 banana (cut into three pieces and frozen overnight)

2 tablespoons vanilla pea protein

1 scoop Rose-Hip Vital with GOPO powder

1 heaped teaspoon turmeric latte blend powder (this powder should have turmeric, ginger, black pepper and possibly some other spices)

1 cup almond & coconut milk (or other preferred nut milk)

teaspoon vanilla bean paste (optional)

Maple syrup to sweeten (optional)

METHOD

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into bowl of choice and decorate with passionfruit, blood orange slices, frozen raspberries, and black sesame seeds.
