"I was happier to get up in the mornings"
I didn't realise how stiff and hobbly I had become until I saw the concern on my masters' faces on their return from overseas. I hadn't been feeling so well. In the morning it was a real struggle to get out of bed and climbing up steps, well, it was something I would much rather not do. Having slipped and landed on my snout several times (how embarrassing for an old lady) I was leery of descending steps. Gingerly, oh so gingerly would I go. Some mornings I didn't really want to get out of my comfy bed.
I heard them talking. ‘Let's try some of this in Snowy's food. It's supposed to be really good for joint stiffness.' And some powdery orange stuff appeared mixed in with my biscuits. I didn't really mind, they were only trying to be kind. The weeks passed and suddenly I realised I was happier to get up in the mornings, managing a good old stretch without falling over and hopping up and down when I heard the food bowl being scraped. Last weekend I went up with the family to the lake house and it felt so good to be swimming in the lake and rolling in the sand. I couldn't help smiling, my ears back, eyes closed, snout covered in sand. Thank you Rose Hip Vital from Snowy (105 in dog years, 15 in human).
